This weekend I was at the Jacksonville Book Festival. Big crowds and a lot of book lovers. This was the second year and this festival is only going to get bigger. See you next year.
Folks, I can’t tell you how much fun I had on Sunday, February 25, 2018. The emotions of this crowd were amazing. In addition to my mother’s story (Feeding the Enemy) , I heard a dozen other actual holocaust survivor stories. All the folks in Sarasota are very pleasant, accomplished, and down to earth. Please visit their website at Bird Key http://www.birdkeyyc.com/ . I would go back tomorrow if they ask me to drive down. Off to next lecture or book festival.
I have to say that my trip to NYC in October was one of the most exciting events, Italian-American Author march, that I have been a part of in my entire life. The whole parade experience was amazing, plus the folks in NYC were so wonderful. My Italian-American heritage is one of my most important topics that I share with just about everyone. Please click on the below link to read the letter and see all the pictures of this great event.
I had the most wonderful time at the Amelia Island Genealogical Society speaker event. Over 33 people showed up and what a great crowd. Even after the speaking event there were loads of questions and answers. One of the best events ever and more to come. Follow the link for more information on this great turnout.
Please join us for our next AIGS Monthly Meeting Tuesday, January 15, 2018, at 7:00 PM Community Meeting Room, Fernandina Beach Library 25 North 4th St, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034
J. R. Sharp
“Feeding the Enemy” is based on the true story of an Italian family’s determination to survive in the face of evil during World War II. It is a story of perseverance, ingenuity and love. This book captures the spirit of survivability against all odds and provides the reader with an appreciation of what Europeans went through during the war to end all wars.
I hope everyone has had an excellent holiday season! Great news to put out. Looks like the second book, Breaking From the Enemy, will be released in 2018. More details to will follow, but we here at the J.R. Sharp camp are excited. The second book will be an exceptional read!! I will be posting the reviews as they start to come back to the Sharp camp.
I am excited to report that Feeding the Enemy was selected for the “Authors in Schools Literacy Program” by the Amelia Island Book Festival committee. We will be at West Nassau High School on 16 February 2018.
