On 31 December 2016, I was invited to the Amelia Island Italian American Club. It was wonderful and I plan on going again in the near future. The club focuses on Italian heritage, food and language. Additionally, they were nice enough to allow me to discuss my book “Feeding the Enemy”. What a great way to end the year and bring in the New Year of 2017!!

I had an absolutely wonderful time with the members of the San Marco Book Club. They opened their doors for me and also fed me dinner. After dinner, we went into a Q & A session about my book “Feeding the Enemy” which lasted about 45 minutes. They ask some great questions and before I knew it, the evening had come to a close. I can’t wait to visit them after my second book comes out. Thank you for the invite!!
The Italian American Museum opened its doors for J.R. Sharp and “Feeding the Enemy”. Dr. Joseph V Scelsa and the whole New York experience was awesome. He and his staff were really friendly and made you feel like family. Little Italy was everything that I expected it to be including the excellent food. Attached is a short video of my interaction with Dr. Scelsa. Next stop is Washington, D.C.

On November 8, Election Day, I was invited to give a lecture on my book, “Feeding the Enemy”, to the local MOAA Chapter in Amelia Island. I am a member of this chapter so it was a very humbling experience being in the same room with all these great military leaders. These men and women gave up so much of their lives to defend this country. It was a great time with friends and fellow military officers. Here are some great pictures of the true American hero’s.
The weather was perfect. The support from the book store was outstanding. All the folks I talked with about “Feeding the Enemy” were very pleasant. Just a great time and I would do it again. Big World War II readers in this part of the city. Plus I was contacted by the San Marco book club to do a reading + + +!
J.R. Sharp’s first novel Feeding the Enemy was picked over numerous other books to appear in this annual event. This event attracts thousands of readers and supports the Authors in Schools Literacy Program.
