On 12 May, I was invited to give my lecture on “Feeding the Enemy” at the Creekside High School in Saint Johns County, Florida. It was one of the most rewarding lectures I have done so far! All the young adults and teachers were very engaging during my lecture. In addition, Laura Strickland and her staff really made me felt at home. Can’t wait to do my next lecture.
I spend Saturday 22 April at the Barnes and Noble in the Jacksonville Town Center. It was one of the most rewarding events so far. There were over eight authors in attendance, most I hadn’t met before but some were old friends. It was an amazing time, plus we sold some books. Head over there if you need a fresh copy or know someone who needs a copy of Feeding the Enemy.
My next stop will be in Fernandina Beach at the Nassau Public Library on 27 April 2017 @ 0630 pm. I will be doing a presentation about Feeding the Enemy. If you haven’t seen the presentation, come on out it is free and there will be after dinner treats.
If your at the Jacksonville Town Center on Saturday 22 April 2017 from 1:30-4:00 come on by the Barnes and Noble for the spring book signing of local authors. There will be eight authors there, including J.R. Sharp. It will also benefit the Book fair to benefit Learn to Read. Come on out and bring the kids, great time for all.
This weekend I was in Tampa Bay for the annual Festa Italiana. Having never been before and this was their 20 anniversary, I can tell you that this won’t be the last time I go. What an exceptional time and it reminded me of Key West except better!! The food was all Italian, the people were all friendly and of course, the concerts were Italian top notch performers. Zucchero was the headliner and he did not disappoint. The weather was exceptional as well. Book sells were steady through out the day. There were so many people, that I couldn’t see the other vendors on the other side of the street! Excellent time. Talk with you soon.
Last weekend I spent the day at the Jacksonville Library for their annual book fest. What a great time and the staff really made you felt like family. Book sales were great and so were the adjacent authors. There were people from all walks of life. It was great to see all the young readers as well, that is something that seems to be missing as we continue with the 2017 book tour. Talk with you soon.
I had a great time at the Amelia Island Book Festival!! The crowds were thick with readers and supporters. Check out some of my supporters. In addition, I met some very nice authors and writers who are always ready to help each other. Can’t wait until next year. http://www.ameliaislandbookfestival.org/
The Veterans History Project (VHP) of Amelia Island was nice enough to invite me to their monthly meeting. It was a blast, these folks are so nice. The crowd was wide ranging and very interested in my career and my book (Feeding the Enemy). I would come back in a minute. If your not too familiar with the VHP, here is a link of this great organization https://www.loc.gov/vets/.
After being honored at the 2017 Florida Book Festival, “Feeding the Enemy” was selected to one of few books featured in the Table of Honor.
